Below are many ways you can help
Want to help but don't have time to volunteer?
Glove House always welcomes financial donations from individuals, organizations or corporations. Financial donations can be made online, via check (mail check to our headquarters) or in person at any of our offices.
Donate to our Kids' Holiday Shoppe
Every year, we host our Kids' Holiday Shoppe at our three main offices in Elmira, Canandaigua and Vestal. And it isn't what it may sound like! We like to teach our youth lessons throughout the year, but at the holidays we choose to teach them about the joy of giving. In early December, youth from all of our programs are invited to attend a special event for us. All year long, we collect gifts for children, young adults and adults so that the youth in our programs can experience the joy of giving to those they love, whether that's parents, siblings, teachers or friends. And while we wrap their carefully chosen gifts, the youth enjoy a meal and holiday crafts and activities. Reach out to Jenn Thomas-Murphy to learn more about how to donate goods or volunteer at the event.
Play in or sponsor our annual Chuck Jennings Memorial Golf Tournament
Each fall, we hold the annual Chuck Jennings Memorial Golf Tournament at the Elmira Country Club. The event is a wonderful opportunity for you to network with other members of the community while supporting the families and youth in our programs. You may do so further by sponsoring the tournament, a hole, or the lunch and dinner. Reach out to Jenn Thomas-Murphy to learn more. Registration will open in June.
Donate clothes to our Bright Futures Interview Closet
Do you have business attire you no longer wear? Our Bright Futures Independent Living Program offers an interview closet of clothes from which youth in the program may select to wear on job interviews or other special occasions. Reach out to our Bright Futures Program Manager today to learn how you can donate!
Teach our Community Residence youth about different foods and cultures as part of our cultural growth program
Are you a chef or restaurant owner of an establishment which features varying cuisines? Consider participating in our Community Residence cultural growth program! You provide the grocery list, we provide the ingredients and location for you to come and cook for our Community Residence youth to help them explore and learn about other cultures and cuisines. Reach out to Jenn Thomas-Murphy to learn how you can participate!
Donate goods or funds for our foster care discharge program
Did you know most youth entering foster care are only given plastic trash bags in which to transport their belongings? We believe strongly in the need to provide youth discharging from foster care a bag they can customize for their belongings. You can donate duffel bags, patches, personal care items (such as small toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, combs, etc.) or donate to our Foster Care Discharge program fund. Reach out to Jenn Thomas-Murphy to learn how!
Volunteer at our annual BBQ
Each year we hold an annual BBQ to benefit the youth and families in our programs. It is held in Wisner Park in Elmira, NY and is traditionally held on the last Thursday in May. Reach out to Jenn Thomas-Murphy if you'd like to volunteer to distribute food & beverages, run youth activities or sponsor the event!

Donate to Bucks for Families
Begun on Founder's Day, April 6th, in 2024, Bucks for Families is a program aimed at supporting families, whether affiliated with Glove House or not, in the communities we serve. Hearkening back to the original 'Bucks for Boys' fundraising campaign created by Glove House founder Chuck Jennings, the new initiative seeks donations from supporters of Glove House to help us provide funds to families in need.

Give during FLX Gives
Each year the Community Foundation of the Finger Lakes organizes a day of giving for area non-profits.
